Role Overview

This internship is suited to an early career candidate who is interested in applying AI, automation, basic technical tools, cybersecurity best practice, and training support to improve business operations, human resources, and people operations processes. The role will involve gathering stakeholder input, documenting process requirements, supporting workflow automation, helping embed solutions into existing systems, and assisting with training on AI and automation related topics.

The ideal candidate may come from a background in artificial intelligence, automation, business information systems, computer science, data analytics, operations, human resources, industrial psychology, cybersecurity, or a related field. Direct work experience is not essential, but the candidate should have completed relevant courses, projects, or self directed learning in AI tools, automation, basic software development, website building, Zapier, Make.com, cybersecurity fundamentals, and practical tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the mapping and documentation of business operations, human resources, and people operations workflows.
  2. Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate input into clear process notes, workflow steps, user stories, or implementation briefs.
  3. Assist with building, testing, and refining AI supported and automation enabled processes using approved tools and platforms.
  4. Support the setup, testing, and improvement of workflows in tools such as Zapier, Make.com, or similar automation platforms.
  5. Assist with basic technical tasks related to embedding workflows into existing systems, forms, websites, databases, or operational platforms.
  6. Apply basic cybersecurity best practice when supporting systems, integrations, access permissions, data handling, and workflow documentation.
  7. Support prompt design, workflow logic, process documentation, and quality checks for AI and automation outputs.
  8. Assist with the preparation and delivery of training materials, guides, demonstrations, and practical learning sessions on AI and automation related topics.
  9. Coordinate tasks, timelines, feedback, and updates across multiple stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  10. Maintain clear documentation of workflows, testing outcomes, training notes, change requests, technical notes, access considerations, and implementation decisions.

  1. Current or recent studies in artificial intelligence, automation, data analytics, business information systems, computer science, operations management, human resources, industrial psychology, cybersecurity, or a related field.
  2. Completion of relevant short courses, certifications, projects, or self directed learning in AI tools, prompt engineering, automation, no code tools, cybersecurity fundamentals, data workflows, or process improvement.
  3. Practical familiarity with Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini, including the ability to use these tools for research, drafting, workflow support, prompt testing, and productivity tasks.
  4. Basic exposure to software development, website building, APIs, forms, databases, or system integrations.
  5. Practical exposure to Zapier, Make.com, or a similar workflow automation platform.
  6. Foundational understanding of cybersecurity best practice, including secure access, password hygiene, data privacy, permissions, safe use of integrations, and responsible handling of sensitive information.
  7. Strong ability to gather information, ask clear questions, structure requirements, and document process steps accurately.
  8. Good project coordination skills, including task tracking, follow up, prioritisation, and clear written communication.
  9. Confidence supporting training activities, including preparing simple guides, explaining technical concepts clearly, and helping users adopt new tools.
