Job Description
- This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner organization. We are currently looking for an Associate Director of Program Planning, Services, and Support in the United States. This role sits at the intersection of program strategy, operations, and rapid implementation within a mission-driven environment focused on expanding access to legal services for immigrants. You will help translate evolving program needs into structured, scalable operations that can be deployed quickly and effectively across national initiatives. The position is highly dynamic, often responding to urgent program shifts, new government requirements, and staffing gaps across multiple teams. You will contribute directly to program design execution, proposal development, and operational continuity across complex, multi-stakeholder projects. Acting as both a strategic partner and hands-on operator, you will ensure programs remain effective, compliant, and responsive under changing conditions. This is a high-impact role requiring adaptability, strong judgment, and the ability to lead through ambiguity.
- Accountabilities Program leadership & implementation support: Contribute to the early-stage launch and incubation of new programs by translating program designs into actionable workflows, coordinating day-to-day execution, and ensuring alignment across staffing, operations, and cross-functional teams. Support refinement of program models based on real-world implementation feedback and operational constraints. Operational systems & infrastructure: Design and oversee interim operational structures during program ramp-up phases, ensuring continuity, scalability, and alignment with organizational goals until permanent staffing is in place. Support the development of secure systems and protocols in coordination with legal, IT, and compliance stakeholders. Proposal development & government contracting support: Lead and coordinate the drafting of technical and narrative sections for government proposals and renewals. Contribute to clear articulation of program design, staffing models, workflows, and organizational strengths. Support submission management and ensure consistency across procurement responses. Staffing & program support flexibility: Provide short-term operational support across programs as needed, stepping into high-priority gaps during transitions, surges, or capacity constraints. Adapt quickly to shifting assignments and evolving organizational needs. Supervision & process improvement: Supervise and mentor staff across experience levels, providing guidance on project execution, prioritization, and program delivery. Identify process inefficiencies, synthesize stakeholder feedback, and help implement improvements that enhance operational effectiveness. Requirements This role requires extensive experience in immigration legal services, program management, or related fields, with a strong ability to operate in fast-paced, evolving environments. Candidates should bring a deep commitment to immigrant rights, equity, and access to justice, along with proven success managing complex, multi-stakeholder programs. 9+ years of relevant experience in immigration legal services, legal access programs, government contracting, or comparable mission-driven environments Strong background in program management, operational design, and implementation of complex or evolving initiatives Experience supporting or leading government proposals, procurement processes, or grant-funded programs Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity, shifting priorities, and rapid program changes Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly for drafting structured, persuasive technical content Strong stakeholder management skills across diverse groups, including legal teams, government partners, and service providers Experience supervising teams and supporting staff development in operational or program settings Ability to collaborate across functions such as legal, IT, compliance, and finance Juris Doctor (J.D.) required U.S. residency and eligibility to undergo required background and security clearance processes Benefits Annual salary: $126,000 (fixed compensation structure aligned with organizational equity principles) Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage (including low- or no-cost options for employees in some plans) Retirement plan with employer contribution (401k with 5% employer contribution, no employee match required) Generous paid time off including vacation, sick leave, personal days, wellness days, and holidays Home office setup stipend and internet reimbursement Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for wellness and support services Structured, mission-driven work environment focused on equity and social impact Opportunities to contribute to high-impact national programs serving vulnerable populations Inclusive workplace culture centered on diversity, equity, and belonging
