Job Description
Overview
We're seeking a BI Engineer who sits at the intersection of data, business intelligence, and AI — someone who turns raw data into clear, actionable dashboards and insights that drive real decisions across the organisation.
What you'll be doing
You'll be part of our Data & AI team, working closely with Data Engineers, AI Engineers, and business stakeholders across a remote-first organisation spread across Asia and Europe. Your core focus is making data legible and useful: building dashboards and reports that give teams genuine visibility into what's happening, surfacing insights that inform product and operational decisions, and levelling up how the organisation reasons with data. You won't just pull queries — you'll engineer data models, build robust reporting pipelines, and use AI to accelerate and elevate the quality of your output. You'll collaborate asynchronously and across time zones as a matter of course.
Responsibilities
-
Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, translating complex data into clear, actionable visualisations
-
Model and transform data using Python (pandas, and analytics libs such as Plotly or Streamlit) to support reporting and exploratory analysis
-
Collaborate with Data Engineers to understand data structures and ensure reporting layers are built on clean, reliable foundations
-
Engage with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate requirements into technical specifications
-
Leverage AI tools to accelerate data analysis, generate draft visualisations, and surface insights from raw datasets — with judgment to validate and refine outputs
-
Automate report generation and distribution to reduce manual effort and improve data accessibility across the organisation
-
Maintain and document data models and a data dictionary to empower business stakeholders to build their own reports
-
Continuously improve data quality monitoring and contribute to data governance practices
Requirements
-
Minimum of 3 years in a BI, Data Analytics, or Data Engineering role
-
Strong proficiency in Power BI for building production-grade dashboards and reports, including DAX
-
Solid SQL skills for querying and transforming data from relational databases and data warehouses
-
Hands-on experience with Python for data analysis and transformation (pandas required; experience with Plotly, Streamlit, or similar analytics libs a strong plus)
-
Experience with data modelling and ETL/ELT concepts
-
Demonstrated, hands-on experience using AI tools to accelerate data analysis or dashboard development in a professional context
-
Ability to communicate effectively in a remote environment — clear written communication, reliable async collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Skills
-
Experience with Google Looker Studio, BigQuery, or other Google data stack tools
-
Familiarity with dbt or similar data transformation frameworks
-
Experience working on a SaaS platform or with B2B operational data
-
Exposure to AI/ML workflows and understanding how BI sits alongside model outputs and feature data
-
Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR, PII handling)
-
Self-directed and curious: you take ownership of your work, seek feedback proactively, and drive your own growth without waiting to be pushed
