Job Description
What we're building
BlancVPN is looking for a Community Manager | Senior to own the brand's voice in conversations with users and to shape how our community grows around the product. This is not a reactive, reply-only role: you set the strategy for how we talk to people, turn everyday conversations into a living community, and make sure everyone who writes to us gets a human answer.
Sometimes that answer is a clear explanation. Sometimes it is a well-timed joke. Either way, it should feel attentive, useful, and true to the brand — and you're the person who defines what "true to the brand" sounds like.
What we're looking for
Core Requirements
- Fluent Russian and English (B2+)
- 4+ years managing communities or brand communication, including a senior or lead role
- Proven experience being a brand's voice across chats, comments, and reviews — at scale and under load
- Clear writing and real empathy: you can answer humanly a hundred times a day, never from a template
- Humor with boundaries: you know when a joke lands and when it doesn't
- Ownership: you can run community independently — set the plan, the Tone of Voice, and the standards, not just execute someone else's
- System thinking: you turn a flow of messages into structured insights and clear next steps for the team
- Product understanding: you can explain how a VPN works in simple words
Nice-to-have
- Experience building a community from scratch and running ambassador or advocacy programs
- Experience defining or evolving a brand's Tone of Voice
- Experience mentoring junior community managers or moderators
- Strong awareness of mainstream social media trends and formats
- Experience in tech products
- Comfort working with community metrics — engagement, retention, sentiment — and reporting on them
What you'll be doing
Community strategy and content
- Own how we talk to people across every channel: Telegram chats and comments, Instagram, App Store and Google Play reviews — setting and evolving our Tone of Voice, with exceptions where they make sense
- Grow a real community around the product: drive engagement through polls, discussions, and reasons to keep coming back to the channel
- Catch news hooks and memes: situational content and interactions with other brands that expand reach
- Handle negative feedback calmly, without canned replies, and bring every issue to a resolution
- Set the standards and playbooks the rest of the team follows when they speak to users
Support and Feedback
- Pick up support cases in social channels when users write to Instagram instead of support, coordinating complex replies with the support team
- Pass structured feedback to product — user pains and requests with context and priority, not just forwarded screenshots
- Moderate the community: spam, bots, and provocation
- Track community health and surface trends the team should act on before they become problems
What we offer
🌍 Work from anywhere — fully remote (except Russia, Belarus, China, Syria, Iran, Yemen, North Korea, and some other regions).
🗓️ Flexible 5-day week — start when it suits you; loosely aligned to CET.
💻 Full home-office setup — all the equipment you need, on us.
🌴 40 flexible paid days off + paid sick leave.
❤️ Benefits — VHI, wellness, language courses, mental health support and a referral program.
📈 Room to grow — annual development budget + in-person team meet-ups.
