This role sits at the intersection of healthcare law, regulatory compliance, and operational strategy, supporting a fast-growing organization focused on improving access to care for underserved populations. You will act as a key legal and compliance advisor, helping shape and scale enterprise-wide compliance programs that support Medicaid and Medicare Advantage operations nationwide. Working cross-functionally with teams across operations, product, security, HR, and client success, you will ensure regulatory requirements are effectively translated into practical, scalable business processes. The position combines hands-on legal advisory work with program development, audit oversight, and risk management responsibilities. You will play a critical role in strengthening ethical operations, supporting audits and corrective actions, and reducing regulatory risk. This is a high-impact role where legal expertise directly supports healthcare access and operational excellence in a mission-driven environment.
- Accountabilities Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise compliance frameworks while serving as a legal and regulatory advisor across healthcare operations. Develop, review, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls aligned with Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and HIPAA requirements. Lead and support audit activities, including government, client, and internal audits, ensuring timely responses and remediation actions. Manage corrective action plans (CAPs), monitoring issues from identification through resolution and closure. Conduct regulatory research and provide guidance on federal and state healthcare compliance requirements. Support privacy initiatives, including HIPAA compliance, investigations, and issue resolution. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed compliance into operational workflows and decision-making processes. Assist in compliance risk assessments, monitoring activities, and reporting to governance committees. Requirements This role requires a licensed attorney with strong healthcare regulatory experience, capable of translating complex legal frameworks into practical compliance solutions in a fast-paced environment. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing. 3+ years of experience in healthcare law, healthcare compliance, or regulated healthcare environments. Strong knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, HIPAA, and related healthcare regulatory frameworks. Experience supporting audits, corrective action plans, investigations, and compliance risk assessments. Ability to interpret complex regulations and operationalize them across business functions. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with attention to detail. Experience working in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments with evolving priorities. Prior exposure to healthcare operations, managed care, or digital health environments is a plus.
