Role Overview
We are looking for experienced lawyers and legal counsel to support the training and evaluation of advanced AI systems. The role involves creating, reviewing, and refining sophisticated legal scenarios that reflect real-world work across commercial law, regulatory interpretation, compliance, contracts, legal research, and risk assessment.
This opportunity is best suited to lawyers with approximately 5–15 years of practice, ideally at Senior Associate, Counsel, or equivalent level, who can apply strong legal judgment to complex business and regulatory matters.
CONTRACT: Short-term contractor assignment, up to 9 weeks
COMMITMENT: At least 4 hours per day and up to 40 hours per week, including 4 hours of PST overlap
LOCATIONS: Remote from approved US states
Responsibilities
- Create high-difficulty legal tasks based on realistic professional scenarios.
- Develop accurate, well-reasoned gold-standard legal solutions.
- Analyze complex legal issues and apply relevant laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance.
- Draft, review, and refine commercial contracts, policies, legal agreements, and related documents.
- Evaluate legal outputs for accuracy, risk, clarity, practical usefulness, and completeness.
- Develop scenarios involving regulatory compliance, legal risk, internal controls, and business requirements.
- Review and calibrate other contributors’ work against established quality standards.
- Identify genuine legal edge cases and ambiguous evaluation criteria.
- Escalate complex issues and rubric ambiguities to the functional expert lead.
- Participate in calibration and revision cycles to improve the quality of project outputs.
- Approximately 5–15 years of legal practice or regulatory/compliance experience.
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree with active bar admission or equivalent professional license.
- Advanced experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, or revising commercial contracts and legal agreements.
- Strong expertise interpreting laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, and internal policies.
- Experience assessing complex legal matters, identifying risks, and providing practical legal recommendations.
- Experience with regulatory compliance, compliance programs, controls, risk assessments, or related advisory work.
- Strong legal research and analytical skills.
- Availability for at least 4 hours per day with 4 hours of PST overlap.
