Job Description
About Us:
Collaborative autonomy is how self-tasking teams of machines will solve hard human problems, and HavocAI is an unquestioned leader in collaborative autonomy. We set the standard for autonomous surface vessels for a wide range of defense and commercial maritime missions. Success requires us to grow quickly, and we’re looking for teammates who are passionate about solving hard problems, about pushing the envelope, and about preventing conflict and saving lives. Ambition is welcome to apply within.
About the Role
HavocAI is hiring its first Director of Product Marketing — a foundational, high-impact hire responsible for building the Product Marketing function from the ground up.
This role sits at the intersection of product, growth, and mission execution. You will define how Havoc communicates the value of its autonomy platform to defense, national security, and government stakeholders while building the systems, messaging frameworks, and enablement infrastructure that will scale with the company.
This is not a maintenance role. This is a “zero-to-one” opportunity for someone who can operate strategically and execute independently. You will be both architect and operator — equally comfortable shaping market positioning, supporting high-priority captures, and developing the internal playbooks that align product, BD, and leadership around a unified narrative.
You’ll work directly with executive leadership and partner closely across Product, Engineering, Business Development, Capture, and Growth teams.
This is an individual contributor role with significant ownership and visibility across the company.
What You’ll Do
Build and lead Havoc’s product marketing strategy, infrastructure, and operating cadence from the ground up
Develop differentiated positioning, messaging, and narrative frameworks across Havoc’s autonomy and defense portfolio
Translate complex technical capabilities into compelling, operationally relevant messaging for government and defense audiences
Build and maintain a competitive intelligence program spanning defense primes, emerging autonomy companies, and adjacent technology providers
Create high-quality sales and capture enablement materials, including:
Executive briefings
Battle cards
One-pagers
Capability narratives
Proposal support content
Partner closely with BD and Capture teams to support strategic pursuits, win/loss analysis, and customer insight development
Develop scalable PMM processes including launch frameworks, messaging hierarchies, and content standards
Ensure consistency and clarity across external positioning, internal messaging, and customer engagement
What We’re Looking For
Required
8–12 years of product marketing experience, including meaningful experience in defense, aerospace, government technology, or national security environments
Deep understanding of the government acquisition ecosystem, including:
procurement cycles
RFP/RFI processes
program offices
defense buying dynamics
Proven ability to communicate highly technical capabilities in a clear, compelling, and credible way to sophisticated government audiences
Experience building product marketing infrastructure from scratch, including frameworks, launch processes, positioning, and enablement systems
Strong cross-functional leadership instincts with ability to influence across Product, Engineering, BD, and Executive teams
Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and high-ownership environments
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with range across technical, executive, and operational audiences
Ideally, You Also Have
Experience in autonomous systems, robotics, maritime defense, or multi-domain operations
Prior experience at a defense tech startup, prime contractor, or dual-use technology company
Familiarity with DoD acquisition frameworks including:
JCIDS
DAS
OTA pathways
Experience supporting proposal efforts and strategic captures
Military experience or strong familiarity with operational concepts, CONOPS, and warfighter workflows
What Success Looks Like
Havoc has a clear, differentiated market narrative that resonates with defense customers and partners
Product, BD, and leadership teams are aligned around consistent positioning and messaging
Capture and proposal efforts are materially strengthened through better enablement and market intelligence
Product marketing infrastructure scales effectively alongside company growth
Havoc is increasingly recognized as a leader in collaborative autonomy and defense innovation
Benefits:

Equity Package
