About The Role

We're looking for a talented Software Engineering Manager to lead our Targeted Collection Engineering team, specializing in data collection and processing to support publicly available information (PAI) workflows for national security customers. You'll be tasked with building and leading a team that focuses on gathering and leveraging publicly available data across a variety of sources. The team also owns a managed attribution browser that enables our customers to safely browse web resources. This team plays a crucial role in powering Vannevar’s product suite, while also supporting new product initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  • Team leadership: Grow and mentor a high-performing team of engineers. Foster a strong engineering culture focused on reliability, ownership, and delivering high-impact platform data collection capabilities.
  • Strategy and technical direction: Define the roadmap and technical vision for data access and collection capabilities, ensuring our data is fresh, reliable, and at the scale required for our products.
  • Data product development: Design and build scalable, reliable data-intensive applications for collecting and warehousing publicly available information.
  • Product ownership: Own and enhance a managed attribution browser that’s a critical part of internal and external customer workflows.
  • Cross-functional execution: Partner with Product, Mission, Infrastructure, and Engineering teams to understand, prioritize, and deliver foundational data and managed attribution browser capabilities

What we’re looking for

  • Engineering leadership: 3+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing software engineering teams, with a track record of delivering complex technical initiatives and growing engineers.
  • Data Collection experience: significant engineering experience across networking, web scraping, browser automation, managed attribution, operational security best practices, anti-bot technology, and distributed systems.
  • Product and customer mindset: Demonstrated ability to partner closely with product, engineering, and operational stakeholders to deliver solutions that balance customer needs, business priorities, and technical excellence.
  • Judgment and execution: Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and make sound tradeoffs.
  • Communication and influence: Excellent communication skills and a track record of driving alignment across teams, influencing technical direction, and building strong cross-functional partnerships.
  • Must hold an Active US security clearance.
