Job Description

About the Role

Physical AI only goes as far as power and the internet can reach. Verkada's Connectivity products push that boundary, securing people and property in remote and edge environments. Our team brings Verkada's AI threat detection, deterrence, and operational insights anywhere you need them, allowing our cameras and other security solutions to be deployed in locations without existing internet or power.

We are looking for a Lead Product Manager to own Verkada's edge products: the Gateway product line and the hardware/software platform behind our Security Trailers. Your mission is to bring network + power to any device, anywhere, and make edge products the backbone of physical AI beyond the building.

We are committed to a thriving in-office culture. This role requires you to work onsite at our HQ in San Mateo, CA.

What You'll Do

  • Own strategy and execution for Verkada's Cellular and Wi-Fi Gateway product line and trailer platform
  • Grow and expand the gateway portfolio including advanced reliability options, fleet-scale cloud management, and new form factors that provide edge connectivity and power
  • Deliver the trailer platform's core promise: continuous off-grid uptime with zero site infrastructure. Push solar, battery, and cellular intelligence until the trailer runs itself. Then, expand the platform into new form factors and use cases!
  • Partner with product lines across Verkada (remote cameras, security trailers, transportation, intercoms, access) to deliver connectivity-as-a-service and drive ecosystem attach
  • Define data plan and pricing strategy that provides easy, fast, affordable data to our customers

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in B2B networking, connectivity, or IoT hardware
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar quantitative field. MS, PhD, or MBA optional
  • Proven history of launching and scaling hardware and/or embedded systems products. Strong customer intuition, technical depth, and ability to navigate tradeoffs are critical to success in this role
  • Excited to roll up your sleeves and get out of the office. You'll spend time with installers, integrators, and customers deploying in unwired environments. You'll use that insight to shape the product!
  • Able to build platform and recurring-revenue business models. You bring a structured mindset to ambiguous problems, from data plan pricing and carrier economics to attach-rate modeling and ROI analysis
  • Ability to lead across strategy and execution. We pride ourselves in sweating the details and search for this in candidates
  • Real passion for craftsmanship and product details. If you've spent days retrofitting your house with the latest smart home technology, you'll like it here
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (LTE/5G, Wi-Fi, WAN failover, SIM/carrier management) and power systems (solar, batteries, PoE), plus foundational knowledge of firmware, device bring-up, and hardware design

Employee Benefits

Verkada is committed to fostering a workplace environment that prioritizes the holistic health and wellbeing of our employees and their families by offering comprehensive wellness perks, benefits, and resources. Our benefits and perks programs include, but are not limited to:

  • Healthcare programs that can be tailored to meet the personal health and financial well-being needs. Premiums are 100% covered for the employee under at least one plan and 80% for family premiums under all plans

  • Health Saving Account (HSA) with annual employer contributions and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) with tax saving options
  • Expanded mental health support
  • Paid parental leave policy & fertility benefits
  • Time off to relax and recharge through our paid holidays, firmwide extended holidays, flexible PTO, and personal sick time
  • Professional development stipend
  • Fertility stipend
  • Wellness/fitness benefits
  • Healthy lunches provided daily
  • Commuter benefits

Additional Information:

  • We do sponsor and take over sponsorship of employment visas for this role. If we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa.
