This role sits at the intersection of advanced software engineering and life sciences manufacturing, contributing directly to the development of software systems that enable the production of complex diagnostic instruments. You will design and build manufacturing software tools that support test automation, calibration, and production data management in highly regulated environments. Working closely with R&D, operations, and quality teams, you will translate sophisticated product requirements into reliable, scalable software used on the factory floor and in field service operations. The position requires strong technical depth, as well as the ability to ensure precision, reliability, and performance in mission-critical systems. You will also contribute to architecture decisions for next-generation manufacturing platforms, including hardware integration and data-driven systems. This is a high-impact engineering role in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment where software quality directly supports healthcare innovation.
- Accountabilities In this role, you will lead the design and development of manufacturing software systems that ensure product quality, reliability, and scalability across production environments: Design, develop, and maintain manufacturing test and calibration software using C#, C++, and related object-oriented technologies. Build and improve test automation frameworks, hardware-in-the-loop systems, and production validation tools. Debug and resolve manufacturing software and firmware issues across contract manufacturing sites, performing root cause analysis and improving yield performance. Contribute to system architecture for next-generation manufacturing software, including UI, backend logic, data acquisition, and hardware interfacing. Develop scalable solutions for production environments, ensuring seamless integration with diagnostic hardware systems. Collaborate with verification, SQA, and engineering teams to define and execute validation strategies and test methods. Support manufacturing operations by maintaining performance, reliability, and compliance standards across software systems. Requirements We are looking for a highly skilled software engineer with strong experience in embedded, manufacturing, or hardware-integrated systems, combined with a quality-driven engineering mindset: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. 3–5+ years of professional software development experience, depending on qualification level. Strong expertise in object-oriented programming languages such as C#, C++, Java, or Python. Experience developing software that interfaces with physical hardware, test equipment, or automation systems. Solid understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, and CAN. Experience with SQL, XML, and object-oriented design principles. Familiarity with UI development (e.g., WPF or similar frameworks) is a plus. Exposure to manufacturing, test automation, or regulated environments (medical devices, ISO 13485, FDA) is highly desirable. Knowledge of cloud-based development and scalable systems is an advantage. Strong analytical thinking, debugging skills, and attention to detail. Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional engineering teams.
