  • This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Sales – Pulp & Paper based in Alberta, Canada. This is a strategic, hands-on sales leadership role focused on growing revenue and market share across the pulp and paper industry. You will build and strengthen relationships with key customers while identifying new commercial opportunities and market trends. The role combines sales strategy, technical problem-solving, customer engagement, and people leadership. You will manage and develop a small technical support team while partnering closely with engineering, service, and operations functions. Your work will directly influence customer outcomes, sales performance, and the delivery of effective treatment and process solutions. The position is remote in Alberta and involves regular travel to customer sites, visits, trials, and technical discussions. It offers an opportunity to make a visible impact in a specialized industrial market while growing as a commercial and people leader.
  • Accountabilities: Develop and execute sales strategies designed to increase revenue, profitability, and market share across the pulp and paper sector. Build, maintain, and expand relationships with key customers, acting as a trusted commercial partner and understanding their operational and technical needs. Identify new business opportunities, emerging market trends, competitive activity, and areas where additional solutions can create value for customers. Lead, coach, and develop two direct reports, including a Service Technician and Support Engineer, fostering accountability, technical excellence, and professional growth. Provide hands-on support for customer programs and standard operating activities, including treatment programs, weekly and monthly reporting, inventory management, material ordering, and equipment uptime. Collaborate with operations, engineering, service, and other internal teams to develop and deliver customer-focused solutions. Monitor sales performance, forecast demand, track key commercial metrics, and communicate progress and opportunities to relevant stakeholders. Support customer visits, product trials, technical discussions, and sales presentations as required. Maintain a strong focus on safe and effective execution while balancing customer needs, commercial objectives, and operational requirements. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience. 5+ years of sales leadership experience, ideally within pulp and paper, industrial manufacturing, specialty chemicals, or another technical industry. Demonstrated experience managing, coaching, and motivating employees, with the ability to develop a high-performing technical support team. Strong technical aptitude and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, service, and operations professionals. Proven ability to develop customer relationships, originate business opportunities, negotiate effectively, and influence purchasing and business decisions. Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Strong commercial judgment, self-confidence, and a results-oriented approach to sales and business development. Ability to analyze market conditions, customer needs, sales performance, and competitive activity to inform commercial strategy. Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the territory and to customer locations. Valid driver’s license required. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
