Job Description
What we're building
BlancVPN is a privacy product used by hundreds of thousands of people — the kind of product where a bad release erodes the exact trust we're built on. We're looking for a QA Engineer | Senior who's equally at home in manual testing and automation, and who understands that quality starts long before a release checklist.
We need more than a test executor — a partner who spots risk early, shapes reliable processes, and helps the team keep the product stable as it grows.
What we're looking for
Core Requirements
- Fluent Russian and English (B2+)
- 5+ years in QA for web, mobile, or desktop products
- Strong manual testing discipline across exploratory, regression, smoke, and release testing
- Experience designing and maintaining UI and API automation
- Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, Appium, or similar tools
- Understanding of test strategy, risk-based testing, and quality metrics
- Ability to write clear bug reports and reproducible test cases
- Comfort working closely with product, design, engineering, and support
Nice-to-have
- Experience testing APIs, integrations, payments, and edge cases
- Familiarity with CI/CD and automated suites in delivery pipelines
What you'll be doing
Testing
- Own manual and automated QA across web, mobile, desktop, and backend-facing flows
- Build and evolve regression, smoke, and release test plans
- Create and maintain automation for critical user journeys
- Run exploratory testing for new features and risky changes
- Validate integrations, payments, onboarding, and support-critical scenarios
Process and Quality
- Investigate production issues and help narrow down root causes
- Improve QA processes, environments, and release checklists
- Track defects, communicate risk clearly, and maintain a high quality bar
- Work with engineers to prevent bugs before release
- Help the team build a mature quality culture
What we offer
🌍 Work from anywhere — fully remote (except Russia, Belarus, China, Syria, Iran, Yemen, North Korea, and some other regions)
🗓️ Flexible 5-day week — start when it suits you; loosely aligned to CET
💻 Full home-office setup — all the equipment you need, on us
🌴 40 flexible paid days off + paid sick leave
❤️ Benefits — VHI, wellness, language courses, mental health support and a referral program
