We are seeking a highly skilled AI Automation Engineer to own automation, system integrations, and data synchronisation across critical corporate systems. This role requires solid software engineering discipline, maintaining code repositories, and using AI coding assistants, AI agents, and MCP services to accelerate IT innovation. The ideal candidate enjoys experimenting with modern technologies and improving operations.

What you will do:

  • Design, build, and maintain AI-powered automations, internal tools, and integrations across corporate SaaS and cloud platforms.
  • Develop scripts, utilities, APIs, and lightweight applications assisted by AI tools.
  • Use AI coding assistants, AI agents, and MCP services to accelerate software development, automation delivery, and IT process innovation.
  • Build automation workflows for user onboarding, offboarding, lifecycle management, role-based access, and data synchronisation.
  • Build, maintain, and scale workflow automations using tools such as n8n or equivalent platforms, connecting SaaS applications, APIs, AI services, and internal systems to automate repeatable business and IT processes.
  • Implement and maintain integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, event-driven workflows, and serverless cloud services.
  • Build AI-assisted utilities and workflows that help IT teams and business stakeholders improve speed, accuracy, and operational visibility.
  • Identify opportunities where AI, LLMs, and workflow automation can reduce manual work, improve data quality, and increase productivity.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and operational insights by connecting data from different platforms through APIs and automation workflows.
  • Work closely with IT specialists, DevOps engineers, security, finance, and business teams to understand needs and deliver scalable automation solutions.
  • Explore emerging AI tools, automation frameworks, modern engineering practices, and new technologies; and help drive their adoption across IT.

What you will need:

  • Strong scripting and automation experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript, or similar languages.
  • Experience building scripts, utilities, APIs, lightweight applications, and integrations with support from AI coding assistants.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools such as OpenAI, Gemini, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar to accelerate development, analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with AI agents, MCP services, prompt engineering, and LLM-based automation patterns.
  • Experience building workflow automations using tools such as n8n, Zapier, Make, Workato, or equivalent platforms.
  • Experience designing, consuming, and troubleshooting REST APIs, OAuth-based integrations, webhooks, and event-driven workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including serverless services and cloud-based automation.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

What we offer:

24 hours of paid volunteer time to engage in meaningful activities outside of work
  • Training and personal development - Grow with Appfire University — our custom, on-demand learning platform designed to support your continuous development
