Job Description
The Senior Category Manager Logistics is a senior, strategic logistics procurement leadership role with accountability for end-to-end logistics spend across the Americas region. Based on the US West Coast, this role owns the development and execution of multi year logistics category strategies covering warehousing, domestic transportation (FTL, LTL) including parcel and express, intermodal solutions, customs and trade related services, and strategic 3PL partnerships.
The role is designed for top tier global procurement talent with deep logistics and supply chain expertise, strong commercial leadership, and the ability to operate at executive level across a complex, matrixed organization. The position plays a critical role in enabling business growth, margin improvement, service excellence, resilience, and sustainability across Americas.
Let’s talk about Responsibilities
End to End Category Ownership: Own the end-to-end logistics category strategy for the Americas region, with full spend accountability across all logistics subcategories and geographies. Deliver measurable annual value creation against defined targets, including cost improvement, working capital efficiency, service performance, risk reduction, and sustainability outcomes. Translate global logistics category strategies into regionally executable commercial models, while actively shaping global strategy through Americas specific market insights and performance data.
Strategic Sourcing and Commercial Governance: Design and govern regional sourcing models for warehousing networks, domestic transportation, intermodal solutions, customs brokerage, trade compliance services, and 3PL partnerships. Lead complex, high value RFI, RFP, and negotiation processes with global and regional logistics providers, emphasizing total cost of ownership, scalability, service differentiation, and long term value creation. Establish robust commercial frameworks including contract structures, indexation mechanisms, performance based agreements, and risk sharing models aligned to market dynamics and business needs.
Supplier Relationship Management and Risk Leadership: Own the strategic supplier portfolio for logistics in the Americas, including segmentation, partnership models, performance management, and innovation pipelines. Lead executive level supplier engagement, governance forums, and business reviews to drive continuous improvement, resilience, and mutual value creation. Identify, assess, and mitigate logistics related risks across capacity, labor, infrastructure, trade compliance, and geopolitical exposure within the region.
Business Partnership and Cross Functional Leadership: Partner closely with regional Distribution, Logistics, Trade, Operations, Planning, Finance, and Procurement teams to ensure sourcing decisions directly support network design, service levels, inventory strategy, and regulatory compliance. Act as a trusted commercial advisor to senior operations and supply chain leaders, translating logistics complexity into clear, fact based business decisions. Contribute to global procurement transformation initiatives, including digitalization, standardization, data driven decision making, and sustainability integration across logistics categories.
This role directly influences the cost structure, service performance, and resilience of the Americas supply chain. Decisions made by the Senior Category Manager Logistics shape logistics network economics, supplier partnerships, and the company’s ability to scale, adapt, and compete in volatile and regulated markets.
Success in this role is measured by sustained value delivery, improved service outcomes, reduced risk exposure, and stronger alignment between logistics sourcing strategies and business growth objectives.
