In this role, you will serve as the central authority for metal removal fluids, coolant systems, and chemical management practices, ensuring operational efficiency, employee safety, and environmental compliance. You will collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, EHS, toxicology, and supplier teams to standardize best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives across multiple facilities. The position combines strategic oversight, hands-on technical problem-solving, and cross-functional leadership in a highly collaborative environment. Ideal candidates are experienced engineering professionals with strong expertise in industrial fluids management, regulatory compliance, and large-scale manufacturing operations.   • Accountabilities: Lead enterprise-wide metal removal fluid (MRF) strategies, governance processes, and coolant management standards across manufacturing operations. Serve as the primary technical authority for MRF approvals, biostability requirements, and chemical management best practices. Oversee authorization and review processes for new or modified fluids, ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and operational standards. Drive standardized coolant and lubrication strategies that support manufacturing efficiency, employee health, and regulatory compliance. Lead technical investigations and resolution efforts related to coolant performance, microbial growth, corrosion, foam, tooling impacts, and health concerns. Chair standards committees and maintain lubricant approvals, technical documentation, and governance records within internal systems. Collaborate with engineering, EHS, toxicology, manufacturing, suppliers, and plant teams to align technical strategies and operational execution. Conduct plant assessments, support long-term coolant optimization initiatives, and provide strategic guidance on chemical management practices. Lead monthly technical review meetings, communicate risks and recommendations to leadership, and track key action items and deliverables. Evaluate emerging technologies, pilot new fluid solutions, and support innovation initiatives across manufacturing environments. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field. 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial chemical management, process engineering, or metalworking fluid systems. Strong expertise in coolant systems, lubrication technologies, metalworking fluids, and industrial chemical applications. Experience managing health, safety, environmental, and regulatory considerations related to manufacturing chemicals. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and influence stakeholders across plants, suppliers, and corporate functions. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to apply technical standards and regulatory requirements effectively. Excellent communication and collaboration skills in complex manufacturing or industrial environments. Experience with biostability testing, wash chemistries, and chemical management programs in large-scale operations is highly preferred. Familiarity with manufacturing governance systems, standards management, and regulatory review processes is a strong advantage. Master’s degree in a related technical discipline and leadership experience in technical committees or standards organizations are considered valuable assets. Ability to travel regularly (25–50%) to support plant operations and technical initiatives.
