This role plays a critical part in shaping and executing labor relations strategy across a complex, multi-venue, multi-union environment spanning the US, Canada, and global operations. You will act as a key advisor to senior leadership, helping guide collective bargaining strategy, grievance resolution, compliance, and workforce relations in fast-paced, event-driven settings. The position requires strong judgment, analytical rigor, and the ability to operate across diverse stakeholder groups, including unions, legal teams, and field operations. You will contribute directly to labor stability, operational continuity, and long-term organizational success. Working closely with senior ER/LR leadership, you will help define best practices, policies, and training frameworks. This is a high-impact role where strategic influence and hands-on problem solving come together.
- Accountabilities In this role, you will support and execute enterprise labor relations strategy by advising on complex union and workforce matters, ensuring compliance, and enabling effective negotiation outcomes. You will partner closely with leadership and field teams to mitigate risk and maintain strong labor relationships. Provide strategic support across collective bargaining activities, including preparation, negotiation guidance, and post-agreement administration Lead and support grievance resolution, conflict mitigation, investigations, and escalation management across unionized environments Ensure compliance with CBAs, labor laws, and regulatory requirements while advising on payroll, wage, safety, and operational practices Collaborate with legal and HR teams on labor-related investigations, complaints, arbitration, litigation support, and agency responses (e.g., EEOC, DOL, NLRB) Analyze labor data, cost structures, and trends (including pensions and benefits) to inform leadership decision-making Support workforce planning actions such as RIFs, layoffs, crisis response, and labor communications during organizational change Develop and promote labor relations best practices, training, and guidance for field leadership and operational teams Requirements This position requires strong expertise in labor relations, collective bargaining environments, and complex stakeholder management, ideally within large-scale or multi-site organizations. The ability to think strategically while executing in fast-moving operational contexts is essential. Bachelor’s degree in HR, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree (JD, MBA, or equivalent) preferred 4–6+ years of progressive labor relations experience in unionized or highly regulated environments Strong knowledge of labor law, CBAs, union operations, and regulatory frameworks across federal, state, and local levels Proven experience supporting collective bargaining, grievance processes, arbitration, and labor negotiations Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable labor strategies and executive reporting Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders Ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgment under pressure, and manage sensitive labor matters with discretion Experience working across HR/ER/LR functions in complex, multi-entity organizations is highly valued Benefits Annual salary range: $131,600 – $171,000, plus bonus eligibility Health, dental, and vision insurance coverage 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer matching Paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and holidays Exposure to large-scale, high-impact labor relations environments Opportunities for professional development in ER/LR strategy and leadership Inclusive workplace culture focused on collaboration and continuous improvement
