Our partner is looking for a Senior Monitoring/Observability Architect based in the United States. This is a senior-level architecture role focused on shaping enterprise monitoring and observability strategies within a large-scale federal environment. You will lead the design of monitoring platforms, integrations, telemetry pipelines, alerting frameworks, dashboards, and ITSM connectivity. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with architecture leadership, stakeholder engagement, and systems-level problem solving. You will work across engineering teams, technology partners, third parties, program leadership, and government customers to deliver scalable solutions. Your expertise will help evaluate complex infrastructure, establish technical standards, and guide modernization across enterprise environments. The position also offers opportunities to influence proposals, technical strategy, knowledge transfer, and emerging observability practices. Success will require strong technical judgment, executive communication, and the ability to translate complex technology challenges into practical solutions.
- Accountabilities: Lead monitoring and observability architecture: Define technical strategy and solution designs for enterprise monitoring, observability, and application performance management platforms, including integrations across complex technology environments. Design implementation patterns: Establish scalable approaches for telemetry ingestion, alerting, dashboarding, event management, and ITSM integration with platforms such as ServiceNow and CMDB. Develop architecture standards: Produce architecture artifacts, technical standards, solution documentation, and systems-level strategies that support consistent and effective implementations. Provide technical leadership: Lead technical teams, third-party partners, and technology stakeholders through complex architecture and implementation initiatives across large-scale federal programs. Assess customer environments: Conduct system-wide technical needs analyses and evaluate existing infrastructure to identify opportunities for modernization, optimization, and improved observability. Advise stakeholders: Translate customer business objectives and technical challenges into practical architecture recommendations, solutions, and technology strategies. Support delivery and implementation: Partner with project and program management leadership to ensure architecture activities are delivered effectively, on schedule, and aligned with program objectives. Resolve complex technical issues: Provide hands-on guidance for tactical problems throughout solution design, implementation, and operational transition. Drive knowledge transfer: Facilitate technical knowledge sharing between internal teams, customers, and partners through documentation, presentations, and structured knowledge-transfer activities. Support business development: Contribute to proposal and bid strategies and review technical proposals for architecture integrity, quality, consistency, and alignment with customer requirements. Present to senior leadership: Review completed solutions, document outcomes, and communicate technical findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders. Stay ahead of technology trends: Monitor developments in observability, monitoring, APM, and enterprise infrastructure technologies and apply relevant innovations to customer solutions. Requirements: Experience: Minimum 8 years of professional experience in enterprise monitoring, observability, application performance management, or related engineering disciplines, including architecture and integration responsibilities. Technical breadth: Demonstrated experience delivering complex enterprise solutions across multiple technologies, with the ability to solve challenging technical problems and develop innovative approaches when established methods are insufficient. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline. Architecture leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical teams and third-party partners through complex architecture and implementation programs. Monitoring expertise: Hands-on experience with enterprise monitoring and observability platforms such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Datadog, Elastic Stack, or equivalent technologies. ITSM integration: Experience integrating monitoring and observability solutions with ServiceNow and Configuration Management Databases (CMDB). Stakeholder management: Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, including the ability to brief senior leadership on architecture decisions, technical strategies, and project outcomes. Federal/enterprise consulting: Ability to engage directly with customers, understand business objectives, assess complex environments, and recommend technology strategies aligned with mission requirements. Business development: Experience contributing to proposal development and bid strategies for large-scale, enterprise-level engagements. Leadership: Ability to establish credibility and trust with customers, technical teams, program leadership, and external partners while operating effectively with significant autonomy. Adaptability: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to stay current on evolving monitoring, observability, cloud, infrastructure, and enterprise technology trends. Benefits: Competitive compensation package. Flexible work schedules designed to support work-life balance. Training and professional development opportunities. Career growth opportunities within a technology-focused environment. Collaborative workplace that encourages innovation, curiosity, and knowledge sharing. Opportunity to work on meaningful, large-scale federal technology programs. Equal opportunity employment environment.
