Description
  • Description The Head of AU Learning Programs leads a team of 10-12 hourly and salaried learning professionals across three verticals — Leader Onboarding & Technical Development, Field Content, Compliance & Automation, and Launch Learning — to design and deliver scalable, digital-first learning experiences across all miles of AU Operations (Fulfilment Centres, Sort Centres, Delivery Stations, and On-The-Road). This role is the architect of capability development across the entire AU delivery network, ensuring leaders and associates are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and tools to execute with excellence. The scope spans leader academy programs, field learning automation, content governance, and end-to-end launch readiness for new buildings. This is a 18-month fixed-term opportunity covering a period of parental leave, offering a high-impact leadership role at the centre of the AU Operations learning agenda. Key Job Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop a team of 10-12 learning professionals across three verticals through regular 1:1s, team cadences, and individual development planning Own the end-to-end delivery of the AU Learning Programs 3-Year Strategy (2026–2028), ensuring on-time execution across leader development, field automation, and building launches Drive the digital transformation of field learning operations — including IAT/ATA automation, content governance, and real-time WBR/MBR dashboards — to move the network from manual delivery to a standardised, data-driven operating model Lead the Academy Consolidation agenda, unifying First Mile and Last Mile leader development into a single product with consistent onboarding pathways for all L4–L6 leaders Own launch planning and readiness across 1P and 3P building launches, ensuring 100% learning operational readiness sign-off for every new site Drive the Site Trainer Model and scalability initiatives that enable the network to grow without a matching increase in L&D headcount Partner with Directors, Site Leads, Function Heads, and the Country Director to align learning priorities with operational needs and represent the team in senior forums Manage 27 P0 success metrics across the team, tracking delivery against targets including 90%+ leader onboarding completion, 80%+ IAT/ATA automation, and 30% manual reporting reduction Identify and surface risks early (including open headcount, FTC transitions, ACES/PE dependencies, and digital transformation funding), driving mitigation strategies and removing barriers to delivery Provide escalation support and act as the senior point of contact for complex or time-sensitive learning challenges across the AU network A Day in the Life No two days look the same in this role, but here's a snapshot of what you can expect. You start by checking in on your team's delivery priorities and any overnight escalations from site, before heading into a 1:1 with one of your L6 Program Leads to review progress on an upcoming building launch and work through a risk that's emerged in the Road to Launch timeline. From there, you move into a stakeholder meeting with a Site Lead and Function Head to align on learning priorities for the next quarter — you bring data from the WBR/MBR dashboards on current program performance, learning curve metrics, and field compliance rates, and leave with clear direction on where to focus. Mid-morning, you review the latest IAT/ATA automation progress with your Field Content vertical, checking Path to Green milestones and discussing the upcoming Site Trainer Model pilot. You provide direction on sequencing and dependencies, ensuring the digital transformation stays on track. After lunch, you check in on the Academy Consolidation work — reviewing the unified FM/LM curriculum and providing feedback on the Tech Week facilitation model before it rolls out to the next cohort of operations leaders. You spend time on Quriosity platform development, ensuring the learner passport system meets the tracking requirements. As the day progresses, you join a launch readiness review for an upcoming 3P building, working through the training plan, tech enablement checklist, and away team deployment schedule. You ensure the L&D Hypercare triggers are clearly defined for the 10-week post-launch ramp. You wrap up by clearing escalations, reviewing AI integration progress for the quarter's solution delivery, checking in with your team on any barriers they need removed, and preparing for tomorrow's priorities. Key job responsibilities - Extend the Learning Manager Standard Work framework from FCs to Sort Centres, Delivery Stations, and OTR operations, ensuring all Learning Managers operate to consistent documented processes and routines across the network. - Explore, design, and pilot alternative staffing models for field learning — including defining selection criteria, capability development pathways, and quality assurance mechanisms — and deliver a recommendation on scalability to senior leadership. - Own field learning compliance across all miles, tracking training completion rates, content currency, and process adherence against benchmark standards, and reporting monthly through WBR/MBR. - Lead the expansion of PRM-L to Sort Centres and Last Mile operations, managing site configuration, Umbrella integration validation, IT Security sign-off, and elimination of manual permission processes. - Serve as PMO Lead for all field learning change initiatives — owning the change register, prioritising and sequencing initiatives, managing cross-initiative dependencies, and running a fortnightly governance cadence with vertical leads. - Act as the senior escalation point for field learning change concerns raised by site Learning Managers and operational teams. - Coordinate communications and supporting materials for all changes going into the field. - Deliver quarterly change adoption summaries and compliance reporting to senior leadership.
