Job Description

The Sr. Regional Business Director - East is responsible for leading a regional team of Qualified Treatment Center (QTC) Account Leads (QTALs) to drive utilization of gene therapies and execution excellence to achieve corporate goals. This leader will be a core member of the sales leadership team and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to ensure a seamless customer and patient experience. This role will lead a team of six (6) QTALs covering the East region and reports directly to the Vice President of Sales.

This position is designated as a field-based role and requires the ability to travel for business purposes up to four days per week on a regular basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategy aligned with corporate objectives, ensuring clear communication and alignment across the team.
  • Drive accountability to performance targets including patient identification, enrollments, pull-through, and treatment starts.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of six QTLs, providing consistent field engagement, performance management, and career development.
  • Build and reinforce a high-performance culture grounded in ownership, urgency, and execution.
  • Translate national strategy into actionable regional and territory-level business plans.
  • Conduct regular field visits, business reviews, and coaching sessions to elevate clinical acumen and selling effectiveness.
  • Identify and remove barriers to patient access, working cross-functionally to drive solutions at the site and system level.
  • Partner closely with Market Access, Patient Services, Medical, Marketing and Operations to ensure coordinated execution across the patient journey.
  • Leverage data and insights to monitor performance, identify gaps, and drive targeted actions.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legal, and company policies.
  • Maintain deep expertise in gene therapy, hematology, and relevant disease states.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in the healthcare or biotechnology industry.
  • 5–10 years of people leadership experience with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Experience in rare disease, hematology, oncology, or cell and gene therapy strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success working within complex hospital and health system environments.
  • Strong understanding of payer, reimbursement, and access dynamics.
  • Proven ability to operate cross-functionally and influence without authority.
  • Exceptional communication and executive presence.
  • Experience using CRM and data analytics tools (e.g., Veeva, Power BI).
  • Ability to travel 4 days a week
  • Must reside within the East region.
