Description
- Amazon's Worldwide Grocery Stores (WWGS) Logistics team is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to own the development of next-generation perishable distribution processes, specifically in produce. This role exists because a high % of shrink in Amazon's grocery business comes from produce — driven by case-pack minimums and multi-day dwell times which degrade quality. We aim to develop a cross-dock-first model with higher vendor delivery frequency and same-day ship to help improve our perishable supply chain. You will operate at the intersection of DC operations, supply chain design, food safety, and technology. Key job responsibilities - Define how produce flows through our network with minimal quality degradation and maximum speed. - Define each-break processes in a cross dock model end-to-end (receiving through sortation to outbound), partnering with Whole Foods Market and Food Safety teams on handling standards, organic labeling compliance, and cold chain requirements. - Identify and introduce new equipment to the network — packaging materials, tote types, holding mechanisms — that enable produce eaches without quality degradation. - Partner with tech to implement associate-facing tooling (pick instructions, sort logic, container assignments). - Inform the longer-term DC cross-dock strategy: defining what a produce cross-dock model looks like operationally, what changes to vendor delivery frequency and DC throughput design, and how it integrates with network design. - Work with Retail, Finance, and Operations partners to define supply chain, network design, and operating models for the produce distribution network of the future. - Develop repeatable SOPs and training materials that scale across sites. - Work cross functionally with in stock, category, and operations partners to test new distribution processes.
Basic Qualifications
- - 3+ years of program or project management experience - 3+ years of supply chain experience - Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams - Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements - Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
