Foxhole Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator II who is eager to grow their IT career by supporting cyber sensing development and defense activities within a secure Department of Defense (DoD) environment. This position offers valuable hands-on experience across multiple platforms and tools, making it ideal for candidates with a foundational understanding of IT operations and a strong interest in cybersecurity and system maintenance. This role is responsible for supporting, implementing, securing, and maintaining a mission-critical network and cyber sensing capabilities in support of the DoDIN.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine system tasks such as user account setup, password resets, and access permissions
  • Monitor system functionality and help diagnose hardware and software-related issues
  • Support the rollout of updates, patches, and antivirus solutions in compliance with DoD cybersecurity directives (STIGs/IAVM)
  • Contribute to security compliance efforts per DoD standards and procedures
  • Aid in updating and creating system documentation, including configuration records, SOPs, and procedural guides
  • Assist in executing backup and restoration procedures to ensure system continuity
  • Provide operational support for cybersecurity tools such as HBSS, ACAS, and SIEM technologies
  • Support Linux-based sensor and hardware management, including experience with iDRAC, sensor management platforms, and BluVector
  • Respond to technical support requests and collaborate with the help desk team to resolve end-user issues

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance
  • Must have a current DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II approved certification (i.e. CompTIA Security+ CE)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or systems administration
  • Basic knowledge of managing operating systems, troubleshooting technical issues, user permissions, and file structures
  • Competency and understanding of Linux operating systems
  • Ability to write basic scripts with Bash, Python, or other scripting language
  • Ability to follow structured processes, maintain clear documentation, and escalate issues when needed
  • Strong interest in learning and contributing to a mission-driven, security-focused team
  • Hands-on experience with network security solutions, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, encryption, and Zero Trust concepts
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps principles, automation, Ansible, test integration, and scalable deployment architectures
  • Experience supporting DoD compliance frameworks, including DISA STIGs, RMF, and NIST 800-53
  • Experience engineering solutions across on-premises, virtualization, and containerization environments

Desired: 

  • Experience as a cyber analyst is a plus
  • Experience supporting DISA, DoD cyber programs, or large scale operational sensor platforms is highly desired.
  • BS Degree in a related Field
