Job Description:
Airbus Americas Customer Service is looking for a Working Party Aircraft Structure Expert to join our Working Party Resources department based in Mobile, AL.
Working Party Structure Expert for the Airbus Working Party perimeter is within the Customer Services and Support function. This position performs “on-aircraft” complex repair and complex modification projects on all AIRBUS fleet worldwide within the Sheet Metal and Structural standard processes for Airlines and Maintenance Repair Organizations (MRO) outside their operating scope of work, technical ability and expertise, including but not limited to incidental and fleet wide repairs.

The Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama houses hundreds of Airbus engineers who assist in the design and development of Airbus commercial aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations and services of all product types across the globe.

Your challenges:
Perform “on-aircraft” major and complex structural repair projects on all AIRBUS fleet within the sheet metal & structural standard processes for Airlines and MRO through Working Parties such as: Skin panels replacement, Complex sheet metal repair layouts and repairs on seat tracks, floor beams and skin doublers; perform complex repairs requiring substantial disassembly such as wing spar and keel beam repairs fabricate clips, doublers, angles and brackets; corrosion removal and damage evaluation; identify damage limits and repairs; working knowledge of Roto Peen and Cold Working procedures. (70%)

Provide on-site technical assistance (Advisory) for scheduled or unscheduled (AOG) maintenance/repair activities in order to support, guide and assist customers taking advantage of Airbus’s recognized and extensive expertise on all Airbus variants and legacy aircrafts. (10%)
Composite skillset: able to perform structural Repairs & Modifications
Additional Responsibilities:
Support all Airbus programs & the Final Assembly Line activities in Mobile, AL when not on Working Party assignment
Contribute to the development of the Working Party activities and the growth of the US Fleet & Engineering organization.
Perform other duties as assigned
Your boarding pass:
FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate and/or EASA Part 66 B1 preferred.
Type training or equivalent experience on the AIRBUS aircraft family. Additional experience on A300/A310.
5 years minimum experience aviation in a repair environment PART 145 (MRO) under: FAA/EASA/TCCA Regulations.
Solid experience in structure repair.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to teams and business partners worldwide.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with multidisciplinary teams in various locations.
Knowledge of Airbus manuals as available in Airn@vX: AMM, IPC, SRM, TSM…
Physical Requirements:
Onsite or remote: This position is based onsite in Mobile, AL with the ability to travel 90% of the time.
Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.
Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
