Description
  • We are looking for a Program Manager to join the Last Mile Program Management team in Japan. In this role, you will own and drive programs that improve how the Last Mile organization operates. Your core focus will be designing mechanisms and frameworks, driving process improvements, and taking projects from concept through to execution. Programs you may work on include (but are not limited to) pricing, compliance, and training. The specific portfolio will evolve based on business needs and team priorities. You do not need to be an expert in every domain on day one. As a team, we will provide the context and support you need to ramp up. What we are looking for is someone who knows how to run programs, build repeatable processes, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. At Amazon, you'll work alongside the latest AI and GenAI tools that are increasingly woven into how teams operate: from AI-powered capabilities that accelerate decision-making, to Generative AI that helps you focus on work that truly matters. You'll have opportunities and resources to develop AI fluency at your own pace, with continuous learning built into the culture. Key job responsibilities -Ensure cross-departmental collaboration to ensure that all relevant teams are aligned and engaged in the change initiatives. -Engage impacted stakeholders to evaluate the risks associated with proposed changes and to serve as the approval authority for change requests. -Responsible for assessing the operations readiness for change and coordinating all change management activities. -Engaging stakeholders, creating communication plans, and building networks of change champions to facilitate the transition. -Continuously evaluating and improving the change management process to enhance its effectiveness and efficiency -Monitor the execution of change management activities to ensure alignment with the overall change strategy. -Any experience in Pricing, DA/DSP Experience, PMO is highly valued. -Ability to setup quantitative metrics to measure success under ambiguous circumstances -Strong ability to report business state to senior leadership A day in the life Your morning kicks off by reviewing key DSP operational metrics and checking in on active change initiatives across the organization. You will join cross-functional stand-ups with Last Mile operations, delivery station teams, and DSP partners to stay aligned on priorities and surface any blockers early. A big part of your day involves driving change management. You will assess operational readiness for upcoming changes, engage stakeholders to evaluate risks, and coordinate approval workflows. You will also build communication plans and develop networks of change champions who help make transitions smoother on the ground. In the afternoon, you might deep-dive into data to set up quantitative success metrics for a new initiative, prepare a business state report for senior leadership, or coach a junior team member through a complex stakeholder conversation. Collaboration happens in both Japanese and English, so you will regularly switch between the two as you work with local DSP partners and global teams. No two days are the same. If you enjoy leading change in a fast-moving logistics environment and turning ambiguity into clear, measurable outcomes, this role will keep you energized. About the team We are the JP AMXL Program Management team, a small but high-impact group embedded within Amazon's Last Mile organization in Japan. Our team currently has three members (including the manager), and we take pride in punching above our weight. Every person on this team has real ownership and visibility into the work they do. Our scope covers a wide range of programs that directly shape the DSP experience in Japan, including DSP engagement, special projects, program implementation, PMO support across Super Regions, pricing, and compliance. We work at the intersection of operations and strategy, turning complex challenges into structured, scalable solutions. What makes this team unique is the breadth of exposure you get. You will collaborate with delivery station teams, DSP partners, cross-functional stakeholders, and senior leadership on a regular basis. We operate in both Japanese and English, and we value people who can bridge communication across cultures and teams. We are a team of builders. We like to question how things are done, test new ideas, and move fast.
