Job Description

HoneyBook is the leading AI-powered business management platform for service-based business owners. Designed to enhance - not replace - independent professionals. HoneyBook’s AI-powered tools help businesses attract leads, connect with clients, book projects, and manage payments more efficiently. With AI seamlessly integrated into every workflow, entrepreneurs can focus on their craft while scaling their businesses with confidence. Since its founding in 2013, HoneyBook has powered over 25 million client relationships and processed more than $12 billion in transactions, helping independent businesses grow faster and smarter.

Our culture is built on five core values that inform everything we do. We encourage collaboration, feedback, ownership, and maintain a growth mindset. We know experience comes in many forms - some visible on your resume, others not. No one candidate will be a 100% perfect match to our description, so if you thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually curious environment and have relevant experience, we encourage you to apply.

Reporting to the CFO, we are looking for a Head of FP&A at HoneyBook. You will own the annual plan, Board and investor reporting, and the financial analysis behind our biggest decisions, and you will lead a high-performing team that turns numbers into clear recommendations. As a member of the HoneyBook leadership team, you will be a trusted partner to the CEO, the CFO, and your fellow leaders.
This is a unique opportunity to shape how Finance plans, reports, and makes decisions as HoneyBook pursues exciting new growth opportunities, working with a lean team that already uses AI for forecasting and reporting.

Here are a few of the things you will do:

  • Lead and develop a team of FP&A professionals, setting priorities and running the monthly and quarterly finance cadence

  • Own the annual operating plan and budget end to end, from top-down targets with the CEO and CFO through department budgets to Board approval, lead the reforecasts that follow, and maintain the multi-year financial model

  • Own Board, committee, and investor reporting, including the quarterly Board reporting and financial materials, the 409A valuation, compensation, and other items that go to the Audit and Compensation Committees

  • Deliver monthly management reporting (flash results, P&L variance, and KPIs vs. plan) that explains what moved and why

  • Run spend governance with department leaders, including budget vs. actuals, approval of unplanned spend, vendor and contract renewals, with a focus on fast-growing AI and cloud costs

  • Partner with business leaders across the company to set goals and budgets for their teams and initiatives, and own the unit economics (LTV/CAC, payback, and cohort performance) that guide where we invest

  • Lead strategic analysis on growth initiatives, pricing and promotions, payments monetization, new markets, partnership and M&A opportunities

  • Partner with the People Team on headcount planning and the annual compensation cycle, and with Accounting on the monthly close and cost classification

  • Work closely with FinOps (dotted line alignment) to drive cost and token optimization across AI and cloud infrastructure

  • Own and extend the AI and automation tools Finance already uses for forecasting, vendor mapping, and reporting, and set the roadmap for where they go next

Here is what we’re looking for in a candidate:

  • A strategic partner who leads with a clear recommendation and the “so what,” and partners closely with stakeholders across the business to drive decisions

  • Executive presence and the ability to explain complex financial topics simply to the CEO, the Board, and non-finance leaders

  • A builder and coach who develops strong analysts and sets a high bar for quality

  • Sound judgment about where precision matters (Board, investors) and where speed matters more

  • Curious and hands-on with AI, and excited to rethink how finance work gets done in a fast-paced, unstructured environment

Here is what is needed:

  • 10+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or corporate finance, including time at a high-growth technology company (investment banking or consulting experience is a plus)

  • 4+ years of experience leading and developing finance teams

  • Experience owning the annual planning process and preparing Board and investor materials

  • Exceptional modeling skills, including metrics-driven revenue forecasts and integrated three-statement financial models

  • Hands-on experience applying AI tools and automation to FP&A work (e.g., forecasting, reporting), and leading a team to adopt them

  • Track record of partnering with executives and presenting to leadership and the Board to influence decisions across functions

  • Solid foundation in financial accounting and management reporting

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA a plus

  • Full proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience at a SaaS or FinTech company is a plus
