Manager – Procurement Cost Reduction (Automotive)

Role Summary

We are looking for a Manager with experience in automotive direct material procurement, strategic sourcing, value engineering, and cost reduction. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in purchasing automotive components and implementing cost optimization initiatives across multiple categories, preferably with automotive OEMs or Tier-1/Tier-2 suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage strategic sourcing and procurement of automotive direct materials.

• Drive value engineering, should-cost analysis, and cost-reduction initiatives.

• Handle supplier negotiations, RFQs, vendor development, and contract finalization.

• Identify cost-saving opportunities through localization and alternate sourcing.

• Evaluate supplier performance, manufacturing processes, and component cost structures.

• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and finance teams to improve procurement efficiency.

• Support Six Sigma, process improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.

• 7–10 years of experience in automotive procurement and direct material sourcing.

• Hands-on experience in value engineering and cost reduction across multiple automotive component categories.

• Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes, component costing, and supplier negotiations.

• Experience working with automotive OEMs or Tier-1/Tier-2 suppliers.

• MBA from a reputed institute preferred.

• Hybrid work model with five working days per week.

• Regular travel to client sites may be required based on business needs.
